Gina Martin Adams, CMT, CFA
Gina Martin Adams, CMT, CFA, is the Global Head of Portfolio Strategy and Chief Equity Strategist for Bloomberg Intelligence, a unique research platform that provides context on markets, industries, companies, and government policy, available on the Bloomberg Professional Service at BI.
Gina provides top-down perspective on the equity market, sectors and industries with a multi-disciplined approach that utilizes fundamental, quantitative and technical analysis. She frequently presents her views at industry conferences, professional associations and investment organizations, and has been recognized for portfolio strategy, technical strategy and economics in Institutional Investors’ All-America Research survey.
Prior to joining Bloomberg, she was the head of U.S. Equity Strategy for Wells Fargo Securities, where she provided analysis and investment allocation recommendations for Wells Fargo Securities’ institutional clients. Previously, she was an economist for Wachovia Bank, and an investment strategy analyst for Evergreen Asset Management.
Mrs. Adams has a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from the University of Florida. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Market Technician designations, and is a member of the CFA Institute, the CMT Association, the CFA Society of New York, the American Association of Professional Technical Analysts, the Financial Women’s Association, and 100 Women in Finance.
Jay Woods, CMT
Jay Woods is the Chief Global Strategist for Freedom Capital Markets.
Prior to joining Freedom, he was the Chief Market Strategist at DriveWealth Institutional. He also served as an Executive Floor Governor at the NYSE, the highest elected position at the Exchange held by only six NYSE members.
Jay spent over 25 years as a Designated Market Maker on the NYSE floor. He started with Spear, Leeds, and Kellogg, then joined Goldman Sachs for 14 years and moved on to IMC after Goldman divested their floor operation. As a DMM, he was responsible for several high-profile IPOs and led trading in some of the most active issues at the NYSE.
Jay received his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University. He received his CMT designation in 2017. He is heavily involved with the CMT Association and currently serves on their Board of Directors. He also mentors Scholars of Finance and regularly discusses financial literacy with local high schools and universities.
John Kolovos, CMT, CFA
John Kolovos is Head of Technical Strategy at Macro Risk Advisors. In this role, John is responsible for delivering high-conviction investment insights, identifying tactical trading opportunities, and analyzing cross-asset relationships between stocks, commodities, currencies, and interest rates from across the globe. John has been one of Wall Street’s most sought-after macro-based analysts for over 20 years, working alongside some of the industry’s most legendary investors.
Before joining MRA, John spent the early part of his career at Lehman Brothers and then at International Strategy & Investment (ISI) Group, where he regularly published technical and macro strategy reports to institutional investors in a focused and unbiased manner. Later, John moved to Boston, joining Fidelity Investments as vice president and senior global technical strategist, working side by side with domestic and international portfolio managers.
John is also an adjunct professor at Brandies University, where he teaches a graduate-level course on Technical Analysis and is very active in the technical analysis community by serving on the executive committee as Vice-President for the Charted Market Technicians Association (CMT) as well as sitting on the Governance committee. John is a member of the CFA Society of Boston, a dual CFA and CMT Charterholder, is a frequent guest on CNBC and Bloomberg TV and is widely quoted in the financial press. An avid guitar player and golfer, John is best known for being an integral part of the investment process for those around him by integrating his knowledge and years of experience with systematic processes based on trend, momentum, and relative strength.
Katie Stockton, CMT
Katie Stockton, CMT is Founder and Managing Partner of Fairlead Strategies, LLC, an independent research firm and investment advisor focused on technical analysis. Prior to forming Fairlead Strategies, Katie spent more than 20 years on Wall Street providing technical research and advice to institutional investors. Most recently, she served as Chief Technical Strategist for BTIG and Chief Market Technician at MKM Partners. She also worked for technical strategy teams at Morgan Stanley and Wit Soundview.
With help from the Fairlead Strategies team, Katie provides research and consulting services to institutions and individuals, and she is the portfolio manager for the Fairlead Tactical Sector ETF (TACK). Katie received her Chartered Market Technician (CMT®) designation in 2001 and later served as Vice President of the CMT Association from 2012 to 2016. For several years, she has been honored by The Technical Analyst, a U.K.-based publication, including an award in 2022 for Best Cryptocurrency Research.
Katie graduated with honors from the University of Richmond with a BSBA, and she now serves on the business school’s Executive Advisory Council. She is a member of the Endowment Investment Committee for her church. Katie frequently shares her views on CNBC and other financial news networks.
Mathew Verdouw, CMT, CFTe
As the founder and CEO of Market Analyst (1996) and Optuma (2019), Mathew Verdouw, CMT, CFTe has been working in the field of Technical Analysis for over 28 years.
His inquisitive nature, engineering background, and passion for helping people led Mathew to build one of the world’s leading Technical Analysis applications with sales to tens of thousands of clients worldwide. His clients range from Private Traders to Analysts and Portfolio Managers.
Mathew also teaches the CMT curriculum to hundreds of candidates each year and has presented at numerous professional events around the world.
Patrick Kent, CMT, CFA
Patrick Kent, CMT, CFA is a Portfolio Manager at Hedgeye Asset Management, LLC. He is an accomplished investment professional with more than 25 years of experience managing long/short, opportunistic equity, and thematic global strategies. He currently serves as President of the Biophysical Economics Institute.
Previously, he was at Newton Investment Management, where he managed billions in small- and mid-cap investments and led a team of researchers. Before Newton, Patrick co-developed and managed the first diversified public equity impact fund at Wellington Management, where he also served on the Private Equity Pricing Committee. Earlier in his career, he held investment roles at Schroders and SAC Capital.
Patrick has a BA from Bowdoin College and an MBA from Babson Colleges Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business. He received his CFA designation in 2001 and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston. Patrick holds the Chartered Market Technician CMT designation and is a member of the CMT Association.
Rachel Dashiell, CMT, CFP
Rachel Dashiell, CMT, CFP is a Senior Manager of Trading and Derivatives at Charles Schwab. She specializes in technical analysis and options trading. She hosts multiple webcasts through Schwab Coaching’s Trader Talks where she teaches retail clients about trading, technical analysis, derivatives, and risk management. She’s also a contributor on the Schwab Network.
Rachel is a Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) and a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Rachel loves helping people understand trading and how to dig deeper into the markets. Her real passion lies in teaching technical analysis, trend trading, and risk management.
Ryan Gorman, CMT, CFA
Ryan Gorman is the Chief Investment Officer of West Michigan Advisors, Tamarisk Multi-family Office and Tamarisk Research. He has over 12 years of experience managing portfolios and performing investment research. His work is focused on fusing technical and fundamental factors in a quantitative and rules-based way. Ryan earned a BBA in Finance with a minor in Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He also holds the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.
Tyler Wood, CMT
Tyler Wood serves as CEO and Executive Director of CMT Association with the aim of elevating investors’ mastery and skill in mitigating market risk and maximizing return in capital markets through a rigorous credentialing process, professional ethics, and continuous education. He is a seasoned business executive focused on educational technology for the financial services industry. Since 2011, Tyler has presented the tools of technical analysis around the world to investment firms, regulators, exchanges, and broker-dealers.
Tyler is a familiar voice to many as the co-host of Fill the Gap: the official podcast of the CMT Association and a regular guest in University classrooms through the Academic Partner Program. Tyler is also the co-founder of GoNoGo Charts, a data visualization tool that simplifies market analysis to remove emotional bias from investment decisions.
Prior to joining the CMT Association, Tyler worked in management consulting and publishing. As an executive manager over the past 20 years, he has managed product, brand communications, and sales teams to drive top-line revenue growth for public, private, and non-profit entities.
Vincent Randazzo, CMT
Vincent has guided portfolio managers and investors through multiple market cycles, developing proprietary market breadth indicators that help minimize losses in downturns while maximizing upside. As founder of ViewRight Advisors, he implements systematic, technically-driven investment processes that consistently outperform traditional strategies while maintaining strict risk parameters. His unique approach integrates rigorous market breadth analysis with advanced risk management techniques honed over decades of institutional experience. Before founding ViewRight, Vincent served as Head of Technical Research at CFRA and its subsidiary Lowry Research, where he transformed their market analysis framework. His indicators pinpointed key inflection points at the start of the 2018 and 2020 bull markets. At CFRA, he collaborated extensively with renowned Chief Investment Strategist Sam Stovall, and at Lowry Research, he worked alongside technical analysis pioneer Paul Desmond at the nation’s oldest technical advisory firm.
A Chartered Market Technician (CMT) since 2008, Vincent regularly shares his expertise through institutional research publications and as a featured speaker at investment conferences. His insights have appeared in articles for Bloomberg, the CMT Association, Interactive Brokers, Nasdaq, Proactive Advisor Magazine, Tabb Forum, and others. He lives in Jupiter, Florida, with his wife and two children, where he applies the same systematic approach to perfecting his backyard barbeque game.
